It was no surprise that the U.S. immediately voiced criticism against the Tehran International Conference on Palestine, which opened on Tuesday with a speech by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The Leader, in his speech, correctly revealed the Zionists' collaboration with the Nazis during World War II. The fact is that Zionists had exaggerated Nazi crimes against European Jews in order to elicit international support for the establishment of the Zionist entity in 1948.

The two-day international conference on the Palestinian Intifada was aimed at exposing Zionist atrocities against the oppressed Palestinians and forging a strategy to support the Palestinian struggle for an independent Palestine.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid Reza Assefi on Wednesday rejected a U.S. State Department statement, which repeated the trite U.S. accusation that Tehran supports international terrorism.

The pro-Zionist U.S. administration is well aware of the role Iran is playing in rallying international support for the Palestinian Intifada. That is why it again leveled its hackneyed accusations against the Islamic Republic in order to undermine the positive impact of the Tehran conference on Muslim nations.

As Assefi stated, "Tehran will continue its moral and humanitarian support for the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and of the Palestinians and (for this purpose) the agreement of the United States is not needed."

The Foreign Ministry spokesman further said that Iran and Islamic nations agree on the need to support the legitimate struggle of those fighting for their rights, and the Islamic world hopes that all countries will support the struggle for the liberation of Palestine. In his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei also condemned the U.S. futile attempts at portraying the Muslim Ummah as divided on the Palestinian issue. Indeed, the conference gave the whole world a real picture of how Iran and other Islamic countries are strongly united in supporting the Intifada, or general uprising, of the oppressed Palestinians against the Zionist occupiers.
